My Porting Experience

This morning, I was at the MTN Service Centre in Egbeda begging them to port back my number to their network. Today I want to share my porting experience with you, so relax and here's my story.
It was on a Saturday morning, I put on the TV, and watched the advert video of Saka singing "I don port o".  I was like I should take advantage of this newly introduced mobile portability by switching from MTN to Airtel network. That's because being more of a data user, MTN data plans are very much expensive, and they also lack a good customer support service.
That following week, an Airtel dealer came to my school introducing us to mobile number portability. He told us we get freebies when we port to Airtel, we would be giving 200mb free data weekly as long as people are still porting over to them.
I didn't even think twice, I knew this was my chance to kick MTN in the butt and so I told him I would like to port my number from MTN. He requested for my ID card, passport, gave me a form to fill and asked me to send the word "PORT"  to 3232. He also issued me a new Airtel sim I'll open to use once my MTN sim has been deactivated.
In about 12hrs time, I received a text to insert the new sim and after doing that, I received a text from Airtel saying I've been ported successfully. To clarify things, I quickly loaded an Airtel recharge card and made few calls.....my number has been registered on Airtel.
Since I've ported to Airtel, I was able to use variety of data plans and I find that so appealing but I started experiencing poor call quality I never had when I was with MTN. It is then I realised that why MTN remains the best telecommunication network in Nigeria. That is because they boast a stable, efficient and a more reliable network.

In other words, my best mobile experience is with MTN but Airtel are good as well. If you are the type of person that would be traveling a lot and wouldn't mind spending the bucks, you should stick to MTN but if you're not in a remote place and won't be travelling too much, you will enjoy the best of Airtel.
